Julie and Julia

I just watched the movie, courtesy of Netflix, and I have to say it was a delightful film. I just happen to love stories about people striving to better themselves when they just as easily just settle for what they have already. It's also nice to see people who are still going after something when they are already well grown up.

These are the things I think about often...

Why does a person who is already established in a career still studying, going to school?

Why dreaming of trying completely new things? Still thinking about what she wants to be when she grows up?

Still pushing herself forward with the belief that anything can happen, that she can still be anything?

Why does a gaze or a word from a certain someone make us ALL feel like adolescents?

The part of us that makes us alive, makes us hope, makes us interested in facing a new day must be ageless. It's youthful, that energy that makes us, well, live--really, really live. And when we lose that, it's over. Check please.
